But, using any form of custom URL is not going to hurt the performance of the blog. That is reason we have form field to fill our own custom URL code in Wordpress administration. The idea is not forced by any one but followed by top bloggers. It gives a nice looking URL with only the keyword rich post name which may help SEO. Herman
