A fresh new look, or nice ad, or whatever can always seem like a good idea, and sometimes it is, but without something to really test and give solid feedback, its very hard to move steadily forward. Especially startup blogs have problems getting readers to subscribe to their blof. But i think youll get more subscribers by putting the subscribe icon above the fold where everyone can see it.
