Excellent point that you are writing for searchers, not necessarily search engines – and more importantly, writing keyword-rich content helps the readers when their eyes scan the content to see if this has the information they want.

(2) Doesn’t matter. The point I made about links is that you should write good anchor text and make use of title attributes of your links. It gives search engines a hint about what to expect when they follow the link.

As long as you write well-balanced and keyword-rich paragraphs, they’ll all be picked up by the search engines.

(1) Thanks for using “environment” as an example — that saves me a lot of time trying to figure things out, LOL.

(2) Would keywords be “picked up by search engines” though they’re not in links or images? I mean, if I wrote a keyword-rich paragraph on a certain topic, without links, would those keywords still be picked up compared to a paragraph that contains some links?
