Glossaries And Dictionaries Of Difficult SEO Terms

August 11, 2007

I have long been perplexed by the arcane language of SEO. SEO experts seem to talk in acronyms alone! What’s all this CPC, ECPM, CTR, and CPM all about?

Luckily, it’s not that hard to know all these and more once you know of a few good places to go to whenever you bump into some new SEO mumbo-jumbo.

Below are some good SEO glossaries and dictionaries that will help you understand the secrets behind the tricky acronyms and dodgy SEO language!

The Search Engine Marketing Glossary – This SEO glossary over at SEO Book by Aaron Wall is the best one around. Aaron explains every term in an easy to understand manner and makes everything seem less scary. My favorite glossary so far.

Submit Express SEO Dictionary – This one is also very good. Everything is nicely explained. Be sure to bookmark it.

Seo-dictionary.com – If you want to enjoy a pretty layout while learning about SEO, this one is for you.

A Complete Glossary of Essential SEO Jargon – This huge post at SEOmoz does what it says it does. One of the most original glossary of explanations.

SEO Speak Translated: The Real SEO Glossary – Finally, this funny bit by Tadeusz Szewczyk will give you a good laugh.

Now, the next time an SEO geek approaches you to impress you with his SEO knowledge, you’ll face him with a confident smile rather than backing off into a humble retreat.

Do you know of any other good places that I have missed?
