New Design Again!
October 1, 2007Here we go! After considering a lot of suggestions from a lot of friends, I have completed the second round of changes. This time I am going to stick to this design for very long (hopefully).
Funnily, I started my design as completely nontraditional, and now here I am, back to the basics and good ol’ standard bloggy look. Thankfully, I did learn a thing or two with my experimentation that I’ll be trying out in a couple of days.
Please give your feedback if you feel like it, otherwise, enjoy the shiny new design.

I like it, but I liked the other one better. What I would change to this one is make the header (the entire black bar) shorter in height. I think it’s too thick. And the RSS feed is sort of “out there”. Maybe put it next to the menu above or to the sidebar above About?
Will you put your old one up for sell? I liked the icons from the old one. Where could get some of those icons, like the ones that went next to the “About” and “Categories” and “Archives” section?

Yeah, the header is looking too big. I’ll change it later. Too tired right now.
As for old theme, you think people would wan to download it? Hmm..
Those icons were stock icons I downloaded from somewhere. I think I found them from one of Smashing Magazine’s stock icons collections. I’ll try and find the link for ya.

I liked the old theme, I’m sure if you offered it for a small fee, folks would buy it. If you offered it for free, folks would love it! haha.
But this theme rocks. Rest now though!

I have tried not to change the color scheme too much, because that would have been too drastic.
What do you think about the header? Is it really too big? In fact I have been seeing it for so long that I am now unable to determine whether it looks good or not.

I think that looks a little better. Although your entire theme is fantastic.

Mohsin, I don’t think it’s too big, but my resolution is greater than 1024 x 768. At 1024 x 768, it does look a bit big. Your call.
Well I’m on a 1680*1050 monitor, so it’s hard to tell if it’s too big, but everything does look nice. Good job.
Kinda funny, I just tweaked up my theme a bit today too.
Err.. I can’t design a theme, so I can’t really give you any feedback except from a loyal reader’s POV. I love it (as much as the previous version)
One more thing.. Would you consider placing a pink ribbon somewhere?

Mohsin, tagline is still in the browser title bar. Whenever I tried doing a logo with the tagline it was just too crowded. Eventually I may tweak things a bit more and bring it back.

Jeremy, that’s good but users hardly notice what’s on their browser’s title bar, this thing is for search engines.
Since your blog’s title is not very descriptive, you need something on the top that clearly defines the purpose of your blog. If things get crowded, how about you increase the height of the header a bit?
