After successfully running a free backlink giveaway a few weeks ago, I got the feel of what kind of response to expect for such an offer.
So I am doing it again, but this time with a bit of twist.
All you have to do is subscribe to my RSS feed (if you haven’t already), get the secret word from the bottom of any post, submit your link, and BAM!
You are supposed to submit only one link per blog every month. Moreover, I’ll change the secret word every month to keep things fresh.
5 Winners will be selected randomly at the end of every month, who’ll get all the attention of Blogging Bits readers for a day or two, and a permanent backlink!
Find out more and submit your link on link submission page.
Your thoughts?
What do you think? Would this free backlink giveaway be as successful as previous one?
Hehe I have submitted my link - do you actually get an increase in subscribers doing comps like this?
I´d like to know that too. Am going to submit my link in a few minutes.
Link submitted. Great SEO concept. Good luck with it.
Well… I am not going to hold my breathe but I submitted all the “info” needed. Thanks for running another contest. Scott
The last round of links giveaway is definitely better than this one. I don’t like to do hard work, why force me?
Anyway, this competition has its flaws, I don’t have to subscribe to get the “secret word”, all of it will be shown after I click on the feed link. A recommendation for you is that make people subscribe using their e-mails.
Why? This is because as long as the reader is subscribing to your feed with a mail address, it will be counted as one subscriber as long as the subscriber is receiving the feed updates. Also, with this method, you will know which address is subscribed to your feeds my checking with Feedburner and people can’t cheat by saying that they have subscribed but they are actually not.
Anyway, I have a post coming up next week which I think is better than what I currently have now so since you only allow one submission per month, I shall wait…
I’ve been subscribed to your feed for a few weeks now, so I can skip the first step.
I liked your previous backlink giveaway better, because it was much less restrictive. Anyway, I’m glad that you’re offering another type of backlink opportunity. I’m going to submit a link and hope that it’ll be among the 5 fortunate chosen ones.
Speaking of “fortunate chosen ones,” I believe this new offer would be fairer if the 5 links weren’t selected randomly, but rather by their quality. Just my two cents anyway.
I like the twist!
Though I think that you will be receiving a lot of entries since it runs for a month until you change the “secret word” so the probability of you randomly picking my link (or anybody’s link for that matter) would be very low (think needle and haystack).
Anyway, I can submit three links if I have three blogs, right?
*can’t wait!*
Wow. I have subscribed to your feed. I wonder why I didn’t subscribe before. Btw, your script does not allow submission if the URL has more than 100 characters. Can this be increased?
Thanks for running this again, and even making it a regular feature. I had the same issue with the 100 character limit - ended up submitting a tinyurl rendering of the post URL - hope that passes.
I was already an RSS subscriber and enjoy many of your posts, even those not involving any backlinks
Sorry for the annoying limit guys. I’ve increased the max character limit.
Caroline and Macro, many have run comps like this and have got an increase in their subscribers. Though I am not giving away huge prizes to my new feed subscribers, I will do it in future if I get reasonable success this time.
Mario and Scott, thanks guys.
Wayne, the last round was too messy. And if I do that sort of thing again, I’ll have even more entries on my hands without any real benefit to my blog. So this time I have opted for a more methodical and restrictive approach. Let’s see how it goes.
Karen, well, if I manually choose 5 links, it’d be like telling others that your links were not good enough for me to choose them. That would make a lot of people unhappy, now wouldn’t it?
Pelf, If I get a lot of entries by the end of the month, I’ll increase the number of free backlinks.
Teejay and Patrickj, sorry for that, I’ve fixed the problem.
Thanks Mohsin. Unfortunately, I submitted a post already. Anyway, I hope I get picked.
Interesting concept. I was thinking of running a contest on one of my blogs. But mine would be a little different. For everylink I get to my site you get entered into a contest for somelike an xbox.
hallo… nice to join, thanks for good offering… I want to know how powerfull backlink from this blog…..thanks
